We also offer technically difficult solutions in the two-component area to supplement classical injection moulding.
Materials with different properties become components with special properties in the case of two-component injection moulding. In this way it is possible to produce, for example, Venetian blinds from a hard main core material with good sliding properties and an elastic but non-tearing surface. The surfaces can be patterned or structured, according to the wishes of the designer. The components are used for the control handles of automatic gearboxes in the automotive sector and are characterized by minimal sliding forces and a long working life.
Common applications are for controls that have soft and user-friendly handle or grip elements.
In the case of two-colour injection moulding it is primarily a matter of decorative aspects that have priority. Thus switch knobs for trucks are produced in this way. The switch symbol is produced first in a brilliant white and then a high-grip, dark plastic is injected around it in the same mould. This produces tough, hard-wearing components with markings that do not rub off as a result of wear.
